The infections folliculitis, impetigo, and boils are commonly occurring bacterial skin infections occuring in the hairy areas because the hair pore provides a good environment for the bacteria to grow in large number. The infection usually remains localized for days but may become widespread over the skin with blisters, crusting and painful lumps. Oral and topical antibiotics are required to resolve these infections. Meticulous attention to personal hygiene is necessary to contain these infections.
