Mole and Beauty Mark Removal

Moles, beauty marks, or nevi are names for skin growths which often are hereditarily predetermined and may be present at birth or develop throughout one's lifetime.  They grow in size with the child and usually remain benign.  A new rapidly growing or an old beauty mark that changes in size, shape or color need to be brought to our attention.  Moles can be left alone most of the time but occasionally are removed because they are suspicious of becoming malignant melanoma or they are cosmetically unappealing.  A consultation with the dermatologist is the only way to determine whether a mole is good or bad.
